SEVEN WONDERS OF A SHRINKING WORLD

This article in World Hum (July 6, 2007) chooses places, things, and people that embody ways the planet is shrinking and cultures are colliding. They include "Airworld," Dubai, the California (sushi) roll, Google Earth/Maps, the (newly navigable) Northwest Passage, Manu Chao, and Starbucks "Forbidden City."
